It is\none of the largest self-organized and liberated nei ghborhoods in Europe.\n\nThe Community is becoming stronger\, but so is th e repression. Currently\,\nProsfygika is under threat of attack and evicti on. Over the past decade\, this is\nthe fiths time that the state and the region have attempted to evict and loot\nProsfygika. This time\, the threa t seems the most serious and is about to be\nexecuted immediately.\n\nOver the past year\, the community has already publicly announced that it will \nproceed with the restoration and renovation of the historical buildings\ , funded\nand organized autonomously. This project is being carried out wi th the\nparticipation and support of architects\, civil engineers\, and ot her technical\nspecialists.\n\nEvery restored façade\, every repaired wind ow\, and every balcony contributes to\nthe defense and future of the entir e community\, and thus also to the communal\nway of life it offers.\n\nThe refore\, our comrade Aristotelis Chantzis decided on february 5 2026 to go in\nto a hunger strike until death for the defense of life. His demands a re\n\n1) The immediate cancellation of the contract by the region of attic a\n2) All resdients of Prosfygika to remain in their homes\, in the place and area\nwhere they live and have established social\, cultural and organ ical ties\n3) concrete guarantees to be given for the restoration of Prosf ygika by the\nnon-profit civil law company "katoikoi kai filoi prosfygikon L. In the heart of Athens, the  Community of Squatted Prosfygika has hosted, sheltered, fed, and supported thousan ds of people over the past 15 years. It is one of the largest self-organi zed and liberated neighborhoods in Europe.

The Community is beco ming stronger, but so is the repression. Currently, Prosfygika is under t hreat of attack and eviction. Over the past decade, this is the fiths tim e that the state and the region have attempted to evict and loot Prosfygi ka. This time, the threat seems the most serious and is about to be execu ted immediately.

Over the past year, the community has already pu blicly announced that it will proceed with the restoration and renovation of the historical buildings, funded and organized autonomously. This pro ject is being carried out with the participation and support of architect s, civil engineers, and other technical specialists.

Every resto red façade, every repaired window, and every balcony contributes to the d efense and future of the entire community, and thus also to the communal way of life it offers.

Therefore, our comrade Aristotelis Chantzi s decided on february 5 2026 to go in to a hunger strike until death for the defense of life. His demands are

1) The immediate cancellati on of the contract by the region of attica
2) All resdients of Prosfyg ika to remain in their homes, in the place and area where they live and h ave established social, cultural and organical ties
3) concrete guara ntees to be given for the restoration of Prosfygika by the non-profit civ il law company "katoikoi kai filoi prosfygikon L. Alexandras non profit c ivil law company" with its own self-financing! - No public funds for the "redevelopment" of Prosfygika !
